Okay, folks! As a special treat, we decided to add one more page at the last second. Today marks the last post for Issue #1: Hangman, and we hope you enjoyed it. It’s been a pretty grueling three months, but now that the smoke has cleared I’d have to say I’m extremely proud of this monstrosity we’ve conjured forth.
Once again I’d like to thank you all for sticking with us as we get on our feet…as I keep saying it’s a pretty unorthodox story and it’s certainly not for everyone. But more than that, the nature of this kind of narrative, a mystery with lot of unresolved questions and suspended exposition—where there’s a good deal of alienation from even the protagonist—is such that it’s particularly challenging to stay invested over a long timeframe, while you’re getting updates only twice a week. The webcomic format is not necessarily the best vehicle for this journey, but all I can say is, have patience. We’ll get there.
With that, we’re going to go dark for a little while…
But don’t worry. We’ll return soon, we’re just going to take a one-month break to sort through some other projects that have landed on our plate, and to get Issue #1 printed and figure out the distribution angle. And stuff. We’ll break the news about how to get your own copy as soon as we cross that bridge; expect to see printed issues available for purchase within a couple of weeks. Also: expect to see some interesting (and hopefully illuminating) teaser material dropped periodically in the meantime.
So if you like what you’ve seen here, tell your friends, vote us up and so forth, help us take over the internet. Or, at the very least, help get us to a scenario where we can do this full-time.
See you in silico,
Josh
P.S. For anyone not satisfied with just one bonus page…or is otherwise utterly bewildered by what’s going on in this comic (I think I covered all my bases there)…look for something particularly enlightening buried in today’s minisode…
